The Sekunjalo Group’s international portfolio in resources; oil and gas is held through Swiss and offshore domicile of Sekunjalo International Investment Holdings and its subsidiaries.
Sekunjalo International Investment Holding’s partnership with private families from other African countries has resulted in one of the most successful oil and gas exploration businesses on the African continent and parts of the Middle East.
Sekunjalo International Investment Holdings (SIIH) has over 12 years monetized its oil and gas portfolio on the African continent with the sale of its final concession towards the end of 2013.
The Africa domiciled portfolio of the Sekunjalo Group is held through Sekunjalo Investment Holdings, a South African domiciled company. The Africa based portfolio of SIH has five major areas of investments. These investments are in both public (listed) and private companies. The investment groups are:
- Shareholding in multinational subsidiaries operating on the African continent. This includes subsidiaries of Siemens AG, Nokia, SAAB AB, Coriant and British Telecom (BT).
- Private equity portfolio of investments, focusing on entrepreneurs on the African continent. The private equity portfolio is exclusively funded by the Sekunjalo Group.
- Investments in public companies on the JSE – Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Some of the public investments are controlling investments while others are portfolio investments.
- Investments in private companies in which the Sekunjalo Group has a controlling interest. This includes investments in financial services, media, technology, asset management, ICT, food and fishing, civil security and defence, power generation, mining and resources, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, bio-technology, transport and mobility.
- Investments in 3 Laws Capital and Climate Change Fund, including Sygnia Asset Management, and Sekunjalo Capital has seen the Group emerge as a significant financial services and asset management Group that is self-funded.
