This bursary initiated by Dr Iqbal Survé provides learners with the opportunity to further their studies at universities, technikons and specialised academies. Many of these young South African men and women aspire to become qualified professionals and are afforded this opportunity through the Trust. The bursary is directed at the poorest students who, without the support of the bursary, would lack the funds and resources to fulfill their dreams.
The Survé Family Foundation was established by the founder and Chairman of the Sekunjalo Group, Dr M. Iqbal Survé, in 2004, with an endowment of 50 million US Dollars. The foundation’s focus is on Africa; in areas of children and women’s rights, and those largely affected by the trafficking of young children and teenagers. The foundation has partnered with global civil society organisations to prevent and fight infringements of children’s rights.
The South Atlantic Arts and Culture Trust promotes the support and development of musicians in the performing arts with a special focus on jazz musicians. This is done through the support of teachers, schools and development programmes, as well as selected concerts. The primary goal of the Trust is to raise funds to be used exclusively for the purpose of promoting, and co-ordinating arts & culture initiatives.
The Sekunjalo Development Foundation focuses on areas that have an impact on individual and societal development and play a significant role in nurturing young people who represent the future. This strategy is shaped by an increasing need to ensure effective stakeholder relations and the socio-economic needs of the communities in which the company conducts its business.
The development of leadership to assist with the transformation of the economy of the Republic of South Africa in a manner which is sensitive to the needs of all major stakeholders and major classes in the economy of South Africa.
Through the Social Entrepreneurship Foundation, Survé Philanthropies is committed to the development of social entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial initiatives, and has developed a fund to support these through donations; loans, equity investment; joint venture and partnership; education; guidance and the provision of consultancy, management and other forms of service.
